Review of Wolf Chili W/Beans Lean Beef 15 oz 12 count

Neighbor, how long has it been since you've had a big, thick, steaming bowl of Wolf Brand Chili? Well, that's too long.

My wife and I were born and raised in Texas, where Wolf Brand Chili was a staple food. We have lived all over the country where unfortunately, it wasn't available and we were forced to eat other brands. None came anywhere close to the great flavor of Wolf Brand. So, now we just order it by the case(s) over the internet and have it it delivered direct to our home.

It all got started in Texas (of course) way back in 1895, when a Texas ranch cook and Lyman T. Davis developed the original recipe for Wolf Brand Chili. Recognizing that they had something mighty good, the pair brought their specialty by wagon to the oil boomtown of Corsicana, Texas. There they sold it for five cents a bowl out of the back of the wagon in front of the Blue Front Saloon. It got it's name in the 1920's when at the suggestion of a local photographer, Mr. Davis's pet wolf, Kaiser Bill, was selected to grace the label. Suddenly the chili had a name, Wolf Brand, which was to become as famous as its great flavor.

Will Rogers, the world famous film star, comedian, roper and philosopher, had met plenty of chilis he didn't like. So he took every pretext of passing through Texas to stop in Corsicana and pick up a case of the one chili he really loved. That original flavor is still alive and well in today's product. Over 100 years of success proves that Wolf Brand Chili is the best darned canned chili there is.
