This is good jerky. The texture is pleasant, (not too tough, and not too soft). There is not a-lot of connective tissue and silver skin, as there sometimes is in this strip sliced beef jerky. The flavor was a little disappointing. I like spicy foods. When I buy a product that says "Sweet and Hot" I expect it to hit me with both ends and I really only got a hint of either in this product. As for the horrifying chemicals and preservatives, its jerky, they all have lots of cures and preservatives.
