Review of World Kitchens Old Fashioned Beef Jerky, 16-Ounce Bags (Pack of 2)

I ordered these based on the enthusiastic reviews, and when they arrived I was disappointed to see that brown sugar is the second ingredient, and this jerky also contains MSG and nitrites.

I'm sensitive to MSG and I'm not a fan of what nitrites do to the human body.MSG is a salt that tricks you into thinking something tastes better than it really does, and some people find it gives them headaches and numbness.

When I ordered, I had skimmed the product decriptions looking for ingredients, but couldn't find the them. Now I see the ingredients are listed lower on the page.

If you're like me and you avoid things like sugar, nitrites, and MSG, be sure to read the ingredients:

Ingredients - Sliced Beef, Brown Sugar, Water, Salt, Papaya Juice, Vinegar, Black Pepper, Garlic Powder, Monosodium Glutamate, Citric Acid, Sodium Nitrite.

Oh -- and by my standards, this jerky tastes ... just OK.A bit too sweet (6gm sugar per oz, to be precise, according to the label).

My favorite jerky I've found so far is "Gus's Really Good Fresh Beef Jerky - Original (No Sugar)" but unfortunately Amazon doesn't sell it.
