Review of Jack Link's Beef Steak, Sweet and Hot Flavor, 2-Ounce Packages (Pack of 12)

I usually buy the Sweet&Hot jerky strips at Walmart and love the taste. I decided to try the 2oz stick from Amazon and was disappointed for 3 reasons:

1. They came with expiration date only 48 days away. I've bought a couple of grocery items from amazon and this seems to be a common pattern. I've also read reviews complaining about the expiration issue on other Amazon grocery products. I love shopping from Amazon, but this reason alone may stop me from buying perishables from them again.

2. These sticks are not nearly as soft in texture as the strips. Maybe it's because it's almost reached its expiration date?

3. The flavor is not exactly the same as the strips. It tastes more or less the same as regular beef jerky. A bit of hot (as most jerkies are), but not much sweet. Again, is age a factor?

I've tried many brands and flavors, and Jack Link's Sweet&Hot is by far my favorite. Get it in strips.. and get it from you local grocer.

Yuck!I wrote amazon about the quality of this product and they shipped me another box..ha...These things were terrible...really fatty.

I like the quality of Jack Link products, this one is more sweet than hot to me, just a little hot. But overall the flavor is good. The price is very good compared to individual prices.

I love Jack Links Beef Steaks. These have a wonderful flavor with just the right blend of spices and hickory flavoring. I have trouble eating just one. It makes a great snack anytime. Before letting my grandkids know I have some, I make sure I hide a few first. Kids love them too.

These were pretty good but the 2 oz ones taste better. Maybe I just got a bad box of these though. still great protein and energy.

I like the peppered flavor a lot better than the original or plain, it does have a good cracked pepper flavor. I also think the quality is better than most other brands that I have tried. I like the 1 oz. packages and great value compared to buying individually.

wow the taste in this is great,very good flavor.very fresh tasting.i cut this in small pieces, for my kids.my wholefamily enjoys the chewy beef steak,i will buy again.great for on the road trips.a quick snack.

I've tried the hickory and peppered so figured I'd try the cajun too since I like spicy food. It has a nice kick to it but it's not too hot, at least in my opinion. The spicy taste lingers in your mouth for a bit but it's not a hot burn. It's not as tasty as I'd like but overall it's good and I'll order it again. My favorite is the peppered though, great taste and just a little spice from the pepper.

The taste on these are just not right and what I was expecting. I thought it would taste just like the bagged jerky but its not. I would stay clear and stick with the bagged jerky.

...in that it's chewy, beefy, and has a long shelf life. Jack Link's Peppered jerky is a tad too peppery for my liking, so I expected the teriyaki flavor to be just as robust. Instead, it is mild. Still really good, however! One word of caution, although it's addictive, eat in moderation, or your sodium levels will be off the chart.

My husband loves beef jerkey, and he will not eat these.They are way too salty.Maybe some people won't mind the salt, but for us, it was too much.

this is the only kind of peppered beef steak i buy.it's always very fresh.and taste better than the other brands,if you like jerky i would recomend this product.

I have a border collie and my husband started to give our dog a jacks beef steak every night as a treat. Now I buy boxes of 24 all the time and the vet says they are better to give then a raw hide or some of the treats in the stores .So I think they are ok in my book. Hard to find 1oz ones sometimes but they are worth the price.
